Warranty & Repair Policy

At Downeast Rod Co., every fly rod is individually handcrafted with great care using premium blanks and components. I stand behind the quality of my workmanship and want you to have confidence in your investment.

Workmanship Warranty

All custom rods are warranted against defects in craftsmanship for the original owner. If a guide, wrap, epoxy finish, reel seat, grip, or other component installed by Downeast Rod Co. fails due to workmanship, I will repair or replace it at no charge.

Blank Manufacturer Warranty

Rod blanks are covered by the warranty provided by their respective manufacturer, if applicable. Warranty terms vary by manufacturer and may require replacement fees, shipping charges, or proof of purchase. I will gladly assist you with the warranty process whenever possible.

Accidental Damage

Fly rods are precision tools and can be damaged through accidents, impacts, misuse, improper storage, high sticking, vehicle doors, stepping on the rod, or other causes beyond normal use. Damage resulting from these situations is not covered under the workmanship warranty.

However, I understand that accidents happen. Whenever possible, I offer repair services at reasonable rates. If a repair is not practical, I will work with you to find the most economical replacement solution.

Repair Service

If your rod needs repair, please contact me before shipping it. Include a description of the damage and photographs if possible. This helps determine the best repair option and estimate turnaround time.

Customers are responsible for shipping costs to Downeast Rod Co. Return shipping and repair costs will be discussed before any work begins unless the repair is covered under warranty.

My Commitment

My goal is simple: build rods that you'll enjoy fishing for many years. If you ever have questions or concerns about your rod, don't hesitate to reach out. I'll always do my best to make things right.
